ЖК-экран для экстремальных условий
Temperature has a great influence on the tft display. Our TFT LCD screens provide the ultimate protection when it comes to fighting the challenges of weather, water, dust, smoke, heat and cold. The normal working temperature of TFT screen is -20℃~+70℃. Once the temperature exceeds this range, TFT screens will suffer from problems such as display jitter, streaks, white spots, and shadows. Some problems can be solved and restored, but some are permanently damaged, so LCD screens in extreme environments require special designs.
Impact-Resistant Safety Glass
When it comes to safeguarding LCD screens from the potential hazards of impacts and external elements, our cutting-edge solution lies in the implementation of impact-resistant safety glass. LCD screens inherently possess fragility, making them susceptible to damage caused by accidental collisions or natural factors. To counteract this vulnerability, we offer a range of materials specifically designed to protect the screen, including tempered glass and acrylic variants. These robust options effectively shield the LCD screen from potential impacts, ensuring long-lasting durability and uninterrupted functionality in even the harshest environments.
Wide Temperature LCD Solutions
Conventional LCD screens typically operate in the -20°C to 70°C range. For industrial control and outdoor applications, this temperature range cannot meet the requirements. In order to meet this part of the requirements, the liquid crystal display with wide working temperature developed by us can meet this requirement. The most important factor affecting the working temperature of the liquid crystal display is the liquid crystal. The liquid crystal used in the liquid crystal display is a prepared mixture. , after our special design, the working temperature range is -30°C to +80°C, and some models can even reach 85°C.
It is worth noting that the lcd screen can be used at the extreme temperature, but there are many film materials in the lcd screen, such as the prism film in the backlight, the diffusion film and the polarizer, which will shrink, deform, etc. at high temperature, and the display will appear shadows etc. For long-term temperature operation, heat dissipation equipment needs to be added to the display screen or device.
Glass Heater and PET Heater Solutions
In low-temperature environments, the liquid crystal within an LCD gradually solidifies, resulting in increased viscosity and leading to image persistence and artifacts during screen transitions. When the temperature reaches its limit, the display goes dark, rendering it incapable of showing any content. To address this issue, you may need to incorporate heaters onto the TFT LCD module. We provide both PET heaters and glass heaters, differing in terms of substrate materials. The working principle of these heaters is similar to any electric heating device, as electrical current passing through the ITO circuit converts electric energy into heat energy. Lower resistance (higher power consumption) results in more heat generation. It is important to note that heaters consume significantly more power (3-5 times that of TFT displays) and require higher driving voltages of 9V/12V.

Comparison between glass heater and PET heater
iterm | Glass heater | PET heater |
Substrate | Glass | PET |
Cost | economic | fair price |
Transmittance | 90% | 80% |
преимущество | Higher transparency and longer life | thin and bendable |
disadvantage | High weight, risk of breakage | less transparent and less durable |
By leveraging heaters, the display and touch screen can remain functional in cold, high humidity/low dew point environments, as well as in rapidly changing ambient temperatures.
High-Temperature Environments
LCD displays can typically tolerate temperatures of 70°C or even 80°C, which already covers many environmental conditions. However, at extremely high temperatures, the liquid crystal transitions into a liquid state, losing its ability to refract light and display content. Polarizers and backlight sources are critical components, with polarizers shrinking at high temperatures, potentially causing stretching and warping of the LCD screen. Backlight sources consist of multiple layers of thin film materials that are even thinner than polarizers and can undergo shrinkage and deformation at high temperatures, leading to irreversible issues.
Dealing with overheating is a relatively manageable problem that requires attention to both internal and external heat sources. External heat sources are easier to understand, while internal heat in the display primarily stems from the backlight. Backlight sources can generate substantial heat when operating at high voltages and currents. Additionally, other components within the device also contribute to heat generation, resulting in heat accumulation as an internal thermal challenge. To mitigate internal and external overheating, the integration of fans and ventilation ports into the system can effectively address this issue.
Sunlight readable solution
In challenging sunlight environments, visibility becomes a critical concern for lcd screens. Conventional lcd displays often fall short, with their limited brightness of around 300 nits proving insufficient for clear viewing in bright conditions. To overcome this limitation and optimize screen visibility, we have developed advanced solutions to significantly enhance brightness levels. Our recommended approach involves elevating the screen’s brightness to a minimum of 800 nits, and in certain cases, surpassing 1500 nits. By harnessing this enhanced brightness, our lcd screens ensure exceptional clarity and legibility, even in the presence of direct sunlight.
