lcd is short for Liquid Crystal Display. Lcd includes: lcd panel, driver ic, polarizer, display fpc, backlight unit. The display industry has developed for many years, so there are many types: Graphic lcd, segment lcd, character lcd, color tft, etc.
LCM is short for LCD module, which is a collection of various devices including LCD, LCD driver chip, circuit board, touch screen and so on. LCM is a collection containing all devices. Both are regarded as the same meaning in our daily communication context.
The difference between lcd and lcm
1. lcm can be equipped with font chip, drive circuit board, backlight unit control circuit, etc. According to different requirements, LCM can add required functions, such as serial protocol control, capacitive touch screen, resistive touch screen, buttons, waterproof shell heating equipment, heat dissipation equipment, etc.
2. lcd is liquid crystal display, generally refers to a separate liquid crystal display, does not include other accessories, only the polarizer, driver IC, backlight and FPC necessary for lcd.
