lcd is short for Liquid Crystal Display. It is a broad concept, not specifically referring to a certain kind of display, but refers to a display that uses the principle of using thin-film transistors to control liquid crystals. Lcd includes: lcd panel, driver ic, polarizerdisplay fpc, backlight unit. The display industry has developed for many years, so there are many types: Graphic lcd, segment lcd, character lcd, color tft, etc.

LCM is short for LCD module, which is a collection of various devices including LCD, LCD driver chip, circuit board, touch screen and so on. LCM is a collection containing all devices. Both are regarded as the same meaning in our daily communication context.

The difference between lcd and lcm

1. lcm can be equipped with font chip, drive circuit board, backlight unit control circuit, etc. According to different requirements, LCM can add required functions, such as serial protocol control, capacitive touch screen, resistive touch screen, buttons, waterproof shell heating equipment, heat dissipation equipment, etc.

2. lcd is liquid crystal display, generally refers to a separate liquid crystal display, does not include other accessories, only the polarizer, driver IC, backlight and FPC necessary for lcd.

 

In daily communication and exchange, we can think of LCD and LCM as the same product. Usually, the LCD products you use are customized to better fit your equipment. In this regard, there is no need for special distinction .
