human-machine interface

 > Human-machine interface

Human-machine interface (HMI) is mainly used in the industrial field as a bridge between humans and machines or equipment. Similar to HMI is the Graphical User Interface (GUI). HMI is a larger concept than GUI. GUI is usually used in HMI for visualization functions.
LED displays and segment lcd displays can only display simple content. It is very important that the embedded display is high quality, robust, reliable and able to meet all technical requirements. It is also possible to display more advanced messages, error code types, multi-level menus, etc.
Embedded displays vary and may vary in size from 2 to 30 inches. According to the tft display used by the embedded display and the difference in required functions, it can be divided into two categories: 1. Embedded display driven by MCU, 2. Embedded display driven by Android or Linux.

1. The MCU-driven embedded monitor is relatively cheap, and has fast startup speed and good stability. The disadvantage is that it has poor scalability and cannot perform remote upgrades or network expansion.

2. Android or Linux-driven embedded monitors are expensive and slow to start, but have good performance and can expand 4G networks, GPS, and perform remote upgrades.

But designing the screen, buttons and all necessary graphic elements by yourself is a time-consuming job, and you also need to deal with abnormal problems that arise at any time. The embedded display also needs to communicate with your machine through RS232, RS485 and other interfaces. , all this is much more complicated than detailed. Harmony Optoelectronics develops our interfaces based on customer feedback in order to improve and optimize the operating ergonomics of our products in an agile manner. Whether it’s multilingual support or viewing the machine’s throughput on the screen
, or complex menus, we can develop more advanced intelligence to simplify their tasks.

It is self-evident that HMI or GUI will improve the interaction, in order to keep up with the pace of the times, we must install screens and GUIs with more design capabilities as soon as possible. You don’t need to write a single line of code, just come up with an idea or design, and we’ll design and manufacture an embedded display that fits your device.
