Specification of 0.42-inch small oled display

initial code for 0.42-inch small oled display

Customize the length, width and thickness of FPC or cable, adjust the pin arrangement according to the interface type, and select the appropriate connector. Make your display or circuit board simple and safe with an excellent FPC solution.

A touch screen can be added according to your requirements, there are three options: resistive touch screen, capacitive touch screen, infrared touch screen. Or add protective glass as needed

Display screens with different optical parameters can be designed according to needs, such as brightness, color gamut, response time, gamma and other parameters, and anti-glare, anti-fingerprint coatings, etc. can also be added

The circuit board we designed can convert the interface of your display into an HDMI interface. If your product does not have any display control capabilities, you can use our serial display and only need to use simple commands to control the displayed content through RS232/458

0.42-inch OLED Display drawings and interfaces

0.42-inch OLED display panel with a resolution of 72×40 pixels, displaying content in white. The driver IC is SSD1306B, which supports I2C and SPI interfaces. The oled display is very easy to drive, whether it is ARDUINO, ARM or Raspberry Pi, it can be easily driven.

One of the significant advantages of OLED technology over TFT displays is its self-luminous nature, which eliminates the need for an additional backlight. And the OLED panel has excellent viewing angles, ensuring excellent visibility from every angle. The display uses a solder-type flexible printed circuit (FPC), eliminating the need for connectors. Integration is made hassle-free by soldering the FPC directly to the PCB, simplifying the entire assembly process.

The outline drawing is as follows:

Interfaces are defined as follows:

PinSymbolDetail
1VSSThis is a ground pin. It acts as a reference for the logic pins. It must be
connected to external ground.
2TP/NCNC
3VSS
4C2PData transmission line
5C2NData transmission line
6C1PData transmission line
7C1NData transmission line
8VBATThis is the power supply pin for the internal buffer of the DC/DC voltage converter.
It must be connected to external source when the converter is used. It should be
connected to VDD when the converter is not used.
9VDD
This is a voltage supply pin. It must be connected to external source.
10CSThis pin is reset signal input. When the pin is low, initialization of the chip is
executed. Keep this pin pull high during normal operation.
11RESThis pin is reset signal input. When the pin is low, initialization of the chip is
executed. Keep this pin pull high during normal operation.
12DCData/Command Control
13SCLKHost Data Input/Output Bus
14SDINHost Data Input/Output Bus
15VCOMHThis pin is the input pin for the voltage output high level for COM signals. A
capacitor should be connected between this pin and VSS.
16VCCThis is the most positive voltage supply pin of the chip. A stabilization capacitor
should be connected between this pin and VSS when the converter is used. It
must be connected to external source when the converter is not used.

0.42 -inch 72x40 OLED display application cases

Due to the convenience of driving and relatively low price, 0.42-inch 72×40 OLED products are more suitable for use at higher temperatures than TFT LCD because there is no backlight source, such as heating equipment, such as electric soldering iron and heat gun.

Small instruments and other products that do not need to display complex data and images are also suitable for using monochrome OLED. Monochrome OLED can be thinner, and fewer leads, which can take up less of your CPU’s I/O port.
